Mirei Kudō (工藤 美玲 Kudō Mirei) is a supporting character in Inō Battle wa Nichijō-kei no Naka de. She is the student council president at Senkō Private High School.

Appearance

Mirei is a beautiful fair-skinned teenage girl with straight shoulder-length dark blue hair that is usually tied up into a bun at the back with her fringe being quite big and hanging on the right side, two light blue clips on the right side of her fringe and dark blue eyes.

She is usually seen with her school uniform.

Personality

Mirei in love.

Mirei is a bossy girl who gets easily irritated at Jurai Andō, because of his chūnibyō antics.

She also mistook a letter from Andō as a love letter and falls for him, but ends up getting rejected. However, she still tried to stay cheery and tried not to cry, but in the end, she cried while she was smiling.

She had a very sweet and cute personality when she thought that Andō had given her the love letter. She even changed her email address to "MireixJurai = Forever Love" while being a bit stalker-ish. Although she got rejected, she still remains friends with Andō. But, in Episode 12, it is confirmed that she still does have feelings for Andō as she confessed it to Sayumi Takanashi.

Mirei is also a little air-headed, but also cheerful, and because of this, she has gained much respect and she is also straight-forward to the goal she is aiming for.

History

Life in High School and meeting the Literature Club

Mirei Kudō was a student at Senkō Private High school and was elected as the student council president. She wasn’t satisfied with her victory because her rival, Sayumi Takanashi, had decided not to apply for the position.

One day, Mirei was enveloped in a bright light and received the power to steal the powers of others. An anonymous message warned her that the literature club also had powers and that she should be wary of them. This anonymous person was Tamaki Hinoemata. She was the one responsible for awakening Mirei's power and sought to use her as part of her revenge against Jurai Andō. Unbeknownst to Tamaki, Hajime Kiryu decided to remove the time limit in Mirei’s power, so the battle against the literature club be more interesting.

Mirei tried to confront the literature club, managing to steal Jurai's power. However, she was subdued by Sayumi and forced to surrender. She explained that she was afraid that they would attack her, so she decided to attack them first. They reassured her they weren't going to do anything to her.

One day, Mirei found a letter from Jurai in her shoe cabinet, telling her that he gave her the name "Grateful Robber", but Mirei misunderstood and thought it was “Grateful Lover”, believing the letter was a love letter. Mirei went to the literature club and told Jurai that she agreed to date him. She started calling him “Darling” and acting very affectionate with him, making the other girls jealous.

When Jurai finally explained the misunderstanding and apologized to her, Mirei was about to break down in tears, but told Jurai he wasn’t at fault. At night, Mirei sent a message to Jurai thanking him for the alias he gave her.

When Sayumi was absent one day, Jurai went to talk to Mirei. He asked her if she knew the reason why Sayumi did not run for the position of student council president. Mirei replied that maybe it was because Sayumi decided to prioritize the issue of superpowers, so she became the president of the literature club.

Anime Original Arc

Mirei was visited by Naoe Hagiura, an ex member of the organization F. She controlled Mirei and used her body to attack the literature club. However, Naoe was forced to leave Mirei's body when Jurai Andō tricked her into stealing his power, Dark and Dark of the End. Both Jurai and Mirei had their arms cut by a guillotine, so they could get rid of the inextinguishable black flames.

The Cultural Festival and the End of the Fairy War

After summer vacation and with the cultural festival close by, Mirei was very busy taking care of all the details. It was going to be her last festival, so she was striving to make it perfect. Jurai Andō informed her that the literature club would do a play, Romeo and Juliet, with Chifuyu Himeki and him in the starring roles. She told him there was no problem.

A few days after the festival, Mirei was invited to have fun with the literature club on a tropical beach created by the power of Chifuyu.

When Sayumi Takanashi's power went out of control, Mirei was affected and her personality changed back to how she was when she thought she was Jurai's girlfriend. She started calling him “Darling” again and acting very affectionate with him. After Sayumi's power was canceled, Mirei returned to normal.

One night, Mirei was visited by Genre Yusano, who controlled her by implanting one of her multiple personalities inside Mirei. She was used by Hitomi Saitō as her trump card to defeat Hajime Kiryū. The possessed Mirei used her power to steal Hajime's powers. However, Hajime revealed his secret ability, Reverse Cross Record Errata. This ability let him change the settings of everyone’s powers. Hajime changed back Mirei’s power from “stealing a power forever” to “stealing a power for a few minutes”. Hajime regained his ability to control gravity and smashed all of them to the ground using a strong gravitational force. Then, Hajime annihilated everyone, including the possessed Mirei. Due to the rules of the Fairy War, Mirei was revived with both her power and her memories erased.

Half a year later, Mirei is attending the same university as Sayumi and Hajime.

Powers and Abilities

• Grateful Robber: Mirei's superpower allows her to steal someone else's superpower and use it as well. However, she can only do it when the particular individual with special powers activates it within her sight. She can also return the owner's superpower if she wills it. It is inferred that she can combine multiple people's abilities as well.
